Description:
ZEROWASTE PRO aims to capitalize on the results of projects funded under the MED program and other EU-funded projects, so as to promote minimization in waste production. Minimization is achieved through waste prevention, reuse and recycling. A range of tools and practices has already been selected to be disseminated and, finally, to be used by local authorities and other stakeholders, in order to achieve sustainable waste management through the application of low-cost solutions.

Objectives and main results with positive effects on the environment:
• promotion of prevention and enhancement of reuse and recycling systems;
• sharing of skills in waste prevention, reuse and recycling, through the use of the web platform based on networking;
• impact on citizens’ behavior;
• involvement of schools and development of a toolkit for the teaching and the pilot activity of the Green Island;
• support to Local Authorities in identifying “green solutions” for waste management and maintaining results;
• training courses for trainers;
• promotion and dissemination of eco-innovative technologies and solutions for SMEs.
