The Project

CENSE Circular Economy from North to South Europe: new pathways of citizenship decision processes

The project, financed by Europe For Citizens Programme 2014-2020, focuses on the development of a network of cities on Circular Economy. The project acknowledges the EU Commission’s recent 2011 Roadmap to a Resource Efficient Europe and the Eco-innovation Action Plan. Several EU directives could be reviewed and could introduce new waste targets, with the aim of driving greater resource efficiency.
In relation to the European debate the project promotes the exchange of experiences, opinions and “best practices” on Circular Economy. To this end, we propose a series of meetings and sharing lab (local and international meetings) integrated with each other, focusing on different topics of common interest, that can be seen from different point of view. Target groups are experts, local associations, other local councils that share experiences and capitalize past experiences, so that municipalities can adapt their action Plans to the Circular Economy Principles. The Partners involved can share their networks and implement an exchange of experiences among them in order to involve citizens in the decision processes.
